How do you feel about boundaries? Yesterday my husband and I built a fence. The rest of our backyard was already fenced in, but the area under our carport leading into the backyard was wide open. One small fence changed the entire feel of our outdoor area. Our dogs have some more freedom to come and go into the backyard, and my husband and I have a little more peace of mind knowing the dogs can’t wander into the road. Non-physical boundaries work the same way. Sometimes we just need a small (or big ) line of demarcation to increase our peace of mind and freedom. Freedom and boundaries may seem like two opposing concepts, but in my experience experimenting with healthy boundaries has lead to vast amounts of personal freedom. When I say experimenting, I mean that non-physical boundaries can be adjusted forward and/or backward or maybe even sideways. My internal boundaries are fluid and movable. When we attach to our boundaries and identify with them, they can become too rigid. If we don’t set any, our minds wander out into the road and we might feel like we keep getting hit by a truck. Boundaries are another tool for Self-examination and since the Self is always growing and evolving, so too must our boundaries. My feelings and intuition help me know when a boundary might need some attention or adjustments. Practicing mindfulness and awareness helps me hear and feel when my intuition has something to communicate. Today, after enjoying meditation next to my new fence, I got the sense that it’s time for a short social media break. I’m being called to examine some of my boundaries and spend some time with myself without outside influences. I’ll be taking a short reset until November 1st. I invite you to take a short social media break or even spend a little bit of your daily social media time in meditation or journaling or both or all of the above. Body dysmorphia/Confidence (keep reading for important words ) > These are just words but yet they exist in all shapes & sizes. Because I am confident today, does not mean I am confident 24/7. Because I am on Instagram or am “body positive”, does not mean I am confident 24/7. Just because I’ve lost weight- does not mean I don’t struggle with my body image. I’ve been struggling with body dysmorphia for the past 5 years. At one point I lost an unhealthy amount of weight & at one point I was gaining an extremely unhealthy amount of weight. When I was in between those two weights, I struggled to see myself as perfect. I struggled to accept my body the way it was. Imagine thinking you are fat at 150 lbs? I allowed society at that specific time, to influence me and my way of thought. I even made choices that I wouldn’t have normally made. Had I known I had I was struggling with body dysmorphia and the way I view myself-maybe I would have not made those choices. Sometimes I wish I could say to myself back then-don’t worry, you’re beautiful the way you are. Even though I’ve recently lost 30lbs, I still struggle! But now it’s because my clothes don’t fit, because my skin is slightly loose, or because my belly isn’t toning faster. Sometimes I don’t recognize myself in person, & when I look at photos I’m still in disbelief at how much my body has changed in 8 months. I was extremely unhealthy mentally & physically which reflected on how I treated my body. While I claimed to be “body positive” in the past, I honestly think it’s because I was struggling with acceptance within myself. It’s extremely hard to love yourself through the changes, it’s something I push toward every day. Some days are good, some days aren’t-but all days aren’t perfect just like myself. At the end are 4 photos-the second photo taken seconds apart. It’s so simple for us to see one thing & think we must be like it, & not realize there’s more. Perfectly posed vs not perfectly posed. This is me , my body. My scars. From weight loss and weight gain. This is my body & I work to accept it and nurture for in the past I haven’t been so kind. For anyone who’s struggling, I love you. Keep hanging in there✨ -S

Happy Sunday ✨ - This is my first week back at the gym everyday and it feels pretty dang good! I took almost 2 weeks off with only lifting twice and running a couple times when usually I lift 5-6 times a week! - ITS OKAY TO TAKE A BREAK! 👇🏼 - I’ve never been the type to just take a week or 2 off from the gym unless I was on vacation. But sometimes when you’re mentally just not into it and things in life are happening, it’s okay to take a break and reset. Taking breaks, creating spaces, and taking pauses in life are crucial for self care! - Taking a break doesn’t always come easy to some people. I thought what if I fall behind or what if I don’t start back up again. But the answer to that is no you won’t. Personal time makes the solid foundation we have from within to shine as bright as we can! - ... It’s okay to take a break from work ... it’s okay to take a break from a friends ... it’s okay to take a break during busy days ... it’s okay to take a break from your daily workout routine and diet ... it’s okay to take a break and JUST BE . . If you’re feeling stressed or if your body is telling you to slow down and take a break.. then do it! Listen to your body! Sometimes just a little reset can go a long way and your body will thank you. Take 20 minutes to go for a walk if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Take a day off from the gym if your body is hurting. Take a day to do what you love and to have “you” time.
